Township of Lower Moreland Meeting Dates and Times have been announced.

Fall may have just begun, but Lower Moreland Township provides tips for upcoming Winter

During winter, there are some things that can be done to your yard which will help reduce the need for pesticides next growing season.

Spray dormant oil on bark surfaces of disease and pest prone ornamental trees and shrubs. Dormant oil is non-toxic and works to kill overwintering insect eggs and fungal spores. Spray this heavy oil before leaves or buds appear and when temperatures are above 40 degrees.

Spray a leaf protectant, such as Wilt-pruf®, to hollies, rhododendrons, and other broadleaf evergreen plants to protect against winter moisture loss. Spray early in the winter season when temperature is above freezing.

Elkins Park's FarmerJawn Celebrated for Hosting Prestigious "Outstanding in the Field" Event

FarmerJawn Community Greenhouses, an urban agriculture organization founded by Christa Barfield, gained recognition from Philadelphia Magazine for its role as the host of the "Outstanding in the Field" event on Saturday, held at FarmerJawn's expansive five-acre location on the Elkins Estate.

The event's concept, has since expanded to encompass all 50 U.S. states and has reached 25 countries and counting. Tickets for the event, which aim to support local farmers and restaurateurs, were priced at $375 per person. Christa captivated everyone with her commitment to organic farming, leadership in civil rights, and advocacy for food sovereignty.

Powerball Jackpot Surges to Fourth-Largest Ever

Amidst the countless Powerball tickets sold, none had the winning combination in this past weekend’s drawing, propelling the jackpot to one of its most substantial amounts in the game's history.

With the next drawing scheduled for Tonight, Powerball enthusiasts will vie for an estimated jackpot of $785 million. If a lucky winner emerges they'll face the choice between a series of incremental payments over 29 years or a one-time lump sum of $367 million.

Meanwhile, a $1.08 billion jackpot won this summer remains unclaimed, along with the record-breaking $1.602 billion Mega Millions jackpot hit in Florida last month.

Nick Castellanos continues his impressive form as Phillies complete a sweep of the Mets.

Nick Castellanos delivered a crucial home run in tonight's game, helping the Philadelphia Phillies secure a 5-2 victory over the New York Mets.

Despite wins earlier in the day by the Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs, the Phillies fell short of clinching their second consecutive playoff berth. However, they did reduce their magic number to secure a postseason spot to just one. Additionally, their magic number to secure the top Wild Card spot in the NL now stands at two.

Cristopher Sánchez delivered an impressive performance on the mound, pitching seven solid innings while allowing only two runs. He achieved a season and career-high with 10 strikeouts and minimal walks, demonstrating excellent control throughout the game. Sánchez began the game with 12 consecutive outs and managed 4 2/3 no-hit innings.
