Car ignites in flames after knocking down power lines in Feasterville.

In Lower Southampton Township, a vehicle caught fire after causing a crash that brought down power lines on Philmont Avenue, between Street Road and Bustleton Pike on Monday night.

Upon arrival, The Feasterville Fire Company found that the driver had managed to exit the vehicle, but the vehicle itself was engulfed in flames. Fire officials reported that they used hose lines and foam to control the fire. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries reported, and the fire was extinguished.

Register your security cameras with LMPD for better and faster protection

The Lower Moreland Police Department is introducing a valuable resource for all Township residents and businesses, aimed at enhancing crime prevention and solving efforts.

If you have security cameras on your property, you now have the option to voluntarily register them in the CAMERA REGISTRY. To register your personal security cameras, visit this link.

In the aftermath of a crime, law enforcement often conducts door-to-door inquiries to identify potential cameras in the vicinity. This process can be time-consuming and potentially delay the apprehension of suspects. The Camera Registry list is designed to streamline this process, making it more efficient for investigations to proceed promptly.

Registration is entirely voluntary and can be revoked at any time by contacting the police department. It's important to note that the police department will not have direct access to your cameras, and you are under no obligation to provide video footage if requested. This service is provided at no cost and only requires a few minutes of your time.

Warminster Road Bridge Project approaching final stages, lane closure expected in Upper Moreland

PennDOT is overseeing the replacement of the 136-year-old Warminster Road Bridge, which spans Pennypack Creek and part of Upper Moreland Township. The aging concrete-encased steel beam structure will be replaced with a new 110-foot long and 38-foot wide prestressed concrete box beam bridge.

This bridge replacement will bring several improvements aimed at enhancing traffic safety for the approximately 11,783 annual motorists who use the bridge.

The project commenced in early April and is scheduled for completion in October. A lane closure on Warminster Road is slated for 8:00 am to 3:00 am on Monday, October 2, between Mill Road and Lancaster Place.

LawnStarter has curated a list, ranking the finest states to visit during the autumn season.

It all starts in your back yard! Pennsylvania secured the 5th position in the ranking. It stood out for having one of the longest projected periods of fall foliage, which is 12 weeks. Additionally, the state received recognition for its many state parks, forest trails, fall attractions, and fall festivals per 100,000 residents.

The top spots in the ranking were predominantly claimed by states in the West Coast and Northeastern regions, such as California (No. 1), New York (No. 2), and Washington (No. 3), due to their abundant state parks, extensive forest trails, and an extended season of vibrant foliage.

Red October is Back! Phillies Clinch Playoff Spot!

The Philadelphia Phillies' season was far from smooth sailing, causing concern among both players and fans. With sluggish starts from some of their star players and an initial losing record, early anxiety gripped the city of Philly.

However, a turning point arrived, and since June, they have emerged as one of the league's top-performing teams. This journey culminated in a significant achievement tonight: the Phillies secured not only a playoff spot but also the coveted first Wild Card Spot, guaranteeing them home-field advantage in the upcoming Wild Card round.

Considering their outstanding performance at home during last year's playoffs, this home-field advantage holds immense significance. Citizen’s Bank Park transformed into an ongoing celebration last October, with fans creating such a raucous atmosphere that it triggered health warnings on people's phones.

Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Key Insights after Victory over Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  1. Jalen Carter is a rising star. It's worth mentioning that he faced some off-field issues that led to his drop in the NFL draft, but it's baffling that the league allowed him to slip through to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Carter was arguably the top talent in the draft, and the Eagles managed to snag him with the 9th overall pick.

  2. The Eagles pulled off a heist against the Lions. Philadelphia essentially stole DeAndre Swift from Detroit in exchange for a 2025 4th round pick. This deal looked good at the time, but it looks even better now. Swift currently ranks second in the NFL with 308 rushing yards, boasting an incredible average of 6.8 yards per carry.

  3. Jalen Hurts is consistently winning. He may not be playing his best football for the 2023 Philadelphia Eagles, but he is winning. He's a proven winner, even if the team hasn't fully tapped into its potential yet.
