Fiery tanker crash on the Pa. Turnpike

A tanker truck was caught ablaze on the northbound side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension (I-476) on Saturday. The ensuing inferno from the crash has prompted a complete closure of the highway in both directions. The incident resulted in multiple fatalities.

Traffic Alert: Tuesday Road Closure, Byberry Rd to Philmont Ave

TRAFFIC ALERT: Upcoming Road Closure on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023

Byberry Rd, stretching between Pine Rd and Philmont Ave, will be inaccessible from 1:30 PM to approximately 4:00 PM. This closure facilitates a funeral procession honoring the late Philadelphia Police Officer Richard Mendez.

Motorists are advised to anticipate delays in the vicinity and to allocate extra travel time. Lower Moreland Township Police appreciate your patience and understanding as the community comes together in remembrance of Officer Mendez. Please prioritize safety during your commutes.

Orionid Meteor Shower: Watch for shooting stars in the sky Tonight.

Tonight, the night sky will dazzle with the Orionid meteor shower, visible in Huntingdon Valley, peaking at 8 p.m tonite. Observers can expect 10 to 20 meteors per hour, best seen during pre-dawn hours when Orion is highest in the sky.

Despite the first-quarter moon's slight interference, a few meteors will be visible even from cities post-midnight. For optimal viewing, avoid light pollution, and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness. These meteors, debris from Comet Halley, offer a preview of the comet's expected 2061 return.

After relinquishing a 2-0 NLCS lead with two straight losses in Phoenix, the Philadelphia Phillies recaptured their momentum in the desert during Game 5, triumphing 6-1 over the Arizona Diamondbacks. This pivotal victory handed the Phillies a 3-2 series advantage as they prepare to return to Philly for Game 6.

In a repeat showdown on Saturday's Game 5, the Phillies entrusted the mound to right-hander Zack Wheeler, facing off against the D-backs' Zac Gallen. This pitching duo previously clashed in Philadelphia during Game 1, with the Phillies emerging victorious, 5-3.

Eagles vs. Dolphins: Will Jalen Hurts Score More Than Tua Tagovailoa?

The real challenge for the Eagles' schedule begins at this moment. They've just suffered a defeat at the hands of the New York Jets, a game marred by four turnovers, including three interceptions from quarterback Jalen Hurts, culminating in a season-low of 14 points.

Up next, they confront the Miami Dolphins, who, akin to the Eagles, boast a 5-1 record, standing among the teams with the premier records in the NFL. However, the Dolphins are the league's frontrunners in scoring, with an average of 37 points per game, and in total offense, astonishingly racking up an average of 499 yards per game.

Eagles / Dolphins, Week 7: Tonite at 8:20.
