Christopher P. Kowalewski, a 40-year-old man from Huntingdon Valley, has been sentenced to a prison term of 9-23 months following a guilty plea on charges of aggravated assault by vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The sentence is connected to a DUI crash that Kowalewski caused, which resulted in serious injuries to a female driver.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Byberry Road and Walsh Lane in Lower Moreland on December 8, 2022. The crash led to the female driver sustaining significant injuries, including a fractured sternum, for which she received medical treatment.

Kowalewski is set to begin his sentence on January 11 and will also be required to complete a four-year probation period after his parole. Kowalewski’s blood alcohol content (BAC) at the time of the incident was 0.278%, significantly higher than the legal limit of 0.08%.

🏈 Eagles

The Eagles are in the midst of a rough stretch. Monday's upset loss to backup quarterback Drew Lock and the Seattle Seahawks was Philly's third consecutive defeat. The Eagles have dealt with their share of injuries this season, and star quarterback Jalen Hurts was fighting an illness heading into Monday's game at Seattle. After the 20-17 loss, he said the team was not on the same page and questioned the team's level of commitment.

🏒 Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers, currently on an impressive run, will aim to extend their point streak to 10 games in their upcoming match against the Nashville Predators on Thursday. The Flyers have shown remarkable form, boasting a 7-0-2 record in their last nine games. This streak includes a thrilling 3-2 overtime win against the New Jersey Devils this past Tuesday.

🏀 Sixers

With the NBA trade season underway, the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to bolster their roster, particularly to complement stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Recent reports have shed light on the type of player the Sixers are targeting. The team is focusing on acquiring a two-way player, someone who excels both offensively and defensively. Meanwhile, The Sixers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-113 last night.
