Winter Storm Warning Currently In Effect

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 10 PM EST TODAY, FRIDAY.

WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches.

WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, southern New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania.

WHEN...From 4 AM to 10 PM EST Friday.

IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will rapidly drop into the teens late Friday night. Any untreated roads will become icy and dangerous. Areas of blowing snow are possible over the weekend.

Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland, Abington, and more: Closures Today, Due to Storm

Today’s winter storm has led to the closure of schools across multiple districts in the area. Lower Moreland, and Upper Moreland, Abington, Cheltenham, and Jenkintown school districts have all announced that they will be closed on Friday, January 19, with all school activities being cancelled for the day. This decision comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff in the face of the expected severe weather conditions.

In addition to the school closures, the Upper Moreland's Golden Bears Wrestling Tournament, which was initially scheduled for Saturday, January 20, has been rescheduled due to the storm. The new date is now set for Sunday.

Upper Southampton Braces for Winter Storm; Parking Ban Enforced

Upper Southampton Township officials have declared a snow and ice emergency in anticipation of a significant winter storm expected to impact the area, particularly Lower Bucks County. The emergency declaration is a response to forecasts predicting potentially dangerous icy conditions and snow accumulation of 5 to 6 inches. This weather event has triggered a winter storm warning for Lower Bucks County starting early Friday morning.

The snow and ice emergency in Upper Southampton Township is in effect now until 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 20. During this period, it is important to note that parking on any road within the township is prohibited, as all roads are designated as part of the snow emergency route. Residents and visitors should be aware that failure to comply with this parking ban may result in fines and/or the towing of vehicles.
