Major Traffic Delays in Upper Moreland Due to Road Construction
Significant delays are impacting motorists in Upper Moreland Township due to ongoing roadwork, particularly around Terwood Road near York and Davisville roads. Wednesday morning saw considerable traffic congestion in the area, a direct result of the construction activities.
Officials are advising drivers to anticipate delays and consider planning alternate routes to navigate around the affected area. The construction is causing a notable disruption in the usual traffic flow, making it essential for motorists to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
Lower Southampton Reviewing Plans for Senior Apartment Complex on Brownsville Road
Feasterville in Lower Southampton Township is discussing a significant new development project. Federation Housing, Inc., plans to construct a three-story, L-shaped apartment complex at 1834 Brownsville Road, specifically designed for seniors aged 62 and above who meet certain income criteria set by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.
The Lower Southampton Township Board of Supervisors convened last night at the Township Administrative Building in Feasterville. The purpose of the meeting was to deliberate on Federation Housing's request to amend a conditional use resolution. This amendment aims to reduce the number of apartments in the complex from 72 to 52 units.
The proposed development is envisioned as a mixed-use space, with 20% dedicated to retail or business purposes. The project initially received approval from the Lower Southampton supervisors in 2020, authorizing the construction of the apartments on nearly two acres of land on Brownsville Road.
