Upper Moreland Police Department's Recent Arrests Target Theft and DUI

The Upper Moreland Police Department has announced the arrest of four individuals in recent incidents, which include two cases of retail theft and two instances of driving under the influence (DUI).

In the retail theft incidents, on January 20th, 38-year-old Berisford England from Glenside was apprehended for stealing $4800 worth of Apple products from Best Buy at 1130 Easton Road in Willow Grove. England faces charges of Retail Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Instruments of Crime.

The following day, on January 21st, Gina Joseph, a 45-year-old resident of Warminster, was arrested for Retail Theft after allegedly taking merchandise valued at $190 from the Walmart at 2101 Blair Mill Road in Willow Grove, over several months.

Regarding the DUI arrests, Edward O’Connor, a 75-year-old from Roslyn, was taken into custody on December 7, 2023, at 11:55 pm for DUI, with his blood alcohol content (BAC) being .16% or higher. This arrest occurred following a traffic stop near Fitzwatertown Road and Moreland Road, Willow Grove.

On January 27, 2024, at 1:52 am, Sheldon Henry, 36, from Horsham, was arrested for DUI after being stopped by police for impaired driving near Easton Road and Summit Avenue, Willow Grove.

Viral TikTok Chef and Tavern Owner to Host Super Bowl Cooking Event

McKeever's engaging cooking demonstrations have captivated a vast audience on TikTok, where she enjoys a following of 13,000 fans. Her videos, particularly one titled “Cozy fall meal”, have amassed impressive viewership, with one reaching 1.2 million views. This event promises to be a delightful preview of Super Bowl-themed culinary creations.

Spiritual Care Volunteers Needed at Jefferson Abington

Jefferson Abington is on the lookout for individuals interested in serving as Pastoral Care Volunteers to offer spiritual support to patients and their families. Those who step forward will be provided with complimentary training and skill enhancement opportunities. The process to become a volunteer includes filling out an application, undergoing a background check, and completing the onboarding process with the JAH Volunteers Department.

Upon approval, volunteers are required to go through an interview and attend a Pastoral Care Volunteer training session. They are expected to commit to 2-4 hours of visitation each week and participate in quarterly meetings for ongoing education and to connect with fellow volunteers in the program.

The upcoming training session for Pastoral Care Volunteers is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, with the deadline for applications set for Friday, March 1, 2024.
