PECO Announces Natural Gas Upgrades in Willow Grove, Expect Roadway Changes

Willow Grove is set to benefit from essential natural gas infrastructure enhancements as PECO embarks on a significant project to upgrade and install new equipment in the area. The focus of this initiative will be along Abbeyview Avenue, stretching between Nash Avenue and Division Avenue in the Willow Grove section of Upper Moreland Township. Starting Monday, February 26, the work will primarily take place on weekdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and is aimed at replacing existing natural gas equipment to improve service reliability and efficiency.

Scheduled for completion in May, the project will involve activities not only on the roadways but also on sidewalks and possibly on private properties. Upper Moreland Township officials have underscored the potential for this work to impact local traffic and pedestrian access during the project duration.

In line with maintaining high safety standards, PECO and its contractors will adhere to strict safety protocols, including practicing social distancing, wearing additional protective equipment, and sanitizing work areas before and after operations. These measures are designed to protect both the work crews and the community during the enhancement works.
