The fundraising effort aims to support Sultanova's two young children, who are now without both parents, and to cover the funeral expenses for the family. We forgot to include the link, and our subscribers reached out. To access the GoFundMe, you can click here. Thank you!

Weekend Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Saturday, Sunny and Breezy Sunday

The National Weather Service has forecasted an upcoming weekend of varied weather conditions, starting with heavy rainfall on Saturday, expected to bring 1-2 inches of precipitation starting early in the morning. This significant downpour has prompted warnings from Accuweather for Glenside, anticipating potential flooding and travel disruptions.

Following the rain, the weather is set to clear up, with Sunday predicted to be mostly sunny and accompanied by brisk winds, offering a sharp contrast to Saturday's conditions.

Here's a detailed look at the weekend weather forecast:

  • Saturday: A rainy day with a 90% chance of precipitation and temperatures reaching a high near 51 degrees. Anticipate between 1 and 2 inches of new rainfall.

  • Saturday Night: The chance of rain diminishes to 40%, with mostly cloudy skies and a breezy low around 33 degrees.

  • Sunday: The week wraps up with mostly sunny conditions, a high near 49 degrees, and breezy weather.

Residents are advised to prepare for the wet weather on Saturday and enjoy the sunny, breezy conditions that will follow on Sunday.

Support Pours in for Victims of Destructive Rockledge House Fire

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 13, a distress call at approximately 12:45pm brought nine fire companies to a residence on Fox Street in Rockledge Borough, where they were met with a severe fire engulfing a two-story, single-family home. The Rockledge Fire Company led the response, quickly joined by Cheltenham, Elkins Park, Weldon, Bryn Athyn, McKinley, Huntingdon Valley, Glenside Fire Companies, and the Second Alarmer’s Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, all providing mutual aid.

The combined effort of the crews enabled them to rapidly launch an effective attack on the flames, successfully bringing the fire under control. Despite their efforts, the home was left with significant damage.

In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been established by Danielle Stoduto to support her uncle, Larry Stoduto, and his girlfriend, Rita, who suffered immense losses due to the fire. Not only were all their possessions consumed by the flames, but they also mourn the loss of Rita's cherished cat, Oliver. The fundraising effort seeks to alleviate their immediate financial burdens and assist in rebuilding their lives. The community's generosity has already begun. This is not for the soft hearted by any means. Today is for the rough, rugged and crunchy. That’s right folks — March 21 is National Crunchy Taco Day — the most talked about event since the reveal of Michaelangelo’s “David” sculpture. Celebrate with us.
